If you were forced to chose which would it be? I always thought for me the choice would be simple, if I could only own one vehicle it would be a motorcycle. After all, nothing takes me away from my problems like a two lane road on two wheels. That is: until I ran into the rules involving Social Security Disability, Medicare and Medicaid.
You see, when applying for Social Security Disability, Medicare and Medicaid you can only have 1 operable, licensed, insured and tagged motor vehicle in your possession in order to qualify and as it so happened my bike was broken down when I applied for benefits. As it was explained to me I could own a Rolls Royce or any other motor vehicle worth any amount of money but I could only own one and still qualify.
That's right, I could still qualify while owning a $300,000 Italian sports car or $100,000 custom built chopper but two $1,000 motorcycles or even two $1,000 cars would disqualify me. But get this, after I do finally qualify I can own as many as I can afford. At least that's how the Social Security Administration explained it to me.
So my bike sets in the shed with the needed parts laying on top of my tool box. Funny thing is: when I ride my bike I have no need for therapy. As long as I'm riding, I don't want to hurt anyone at all.
"Well, as through the world I've rambled, I've seen lots of funny men. Some rob you with a sixgun, some with a fountain pen. As through this world you ramble, as through this world you roam You'll never see an outlaw drive a family from its home..." -Woody Guthrie
When everything else goes wrong, I've still got my motorcycles thanks to StolenMotorcycle.net.
